    The Big Lynn Lodge July 27 - 29, 2012

It is my pleasure to invite ALL to an MSTA Non-Event
    July 27 - July 29, 2012

North Carolina's Big Lynn Lodge Ride
    http://msta-se.com/fun/blynn.htm
The Big Lynn Lodge is located about 300 feet off the Blue Ridge Parkway!

Be sure to tell them this is the MSTA Event

The Big Lynn Lodge is located in/near Little Switzerland, NC and is literally hanging on the side of the mountain right on NC-226A. You will be AMAZED at the view but you will be ASTONISHED by the roads! The riding is what I go there for but the scenery and the location is what has me staying.
The Big Lynn Lodge has a unique "formula" in that all of there rooms nights stay INCLUDE an excellent home styled cooked evening meal and a full breakfast for each person (two to a room... a small fee for each additional person)!
I have negotiated special rates for this the second year for this
    The Big Lynn Lodge Ride
There is no registration fee for this event as it is an MSTA Just for Fun event. Obviously with no event fee there is less organization and less work for me. Last year we had some street routes and this year I hope to add a few dual sport routes and some Adventure bike routs. I could use some help in lying out the routes so if you want to help just let me know.

Check out the road the Big Lynn Lodge is located on here:

If only I were closer, or had more vacation. I'll see about making this one next year if Brick continues the tradition. Two weeks for STAR including a week in WY after the rally takes about half my vaction. Then a week in Los Angeles to visit family only leaves me enough time for a few long weekends to get to some other rallies. Love the area, and sounds like a great time, had lunch near there last year during a day ride from Johnson City.

    Steve,
I understand... work sure got in the way of my riding back when I was still working. The way this event has been going and how well everyone who attended last year enjoyed it... I'll most likely do it again. Note: I do ride from about 45 miles further south of the Big Lynn Lodge up to Delphos, Ohio (near Lima, Oh) in around 10 hours. It's a long day and I do it on back roads so it's still fun. But then you would have a 2 ten hour days with another fun day of riding in between... that is IF you could afford to take Friday off. Hmmm... I think you should go for it! But then I would and YMMV.

I'm just not into those extremely long days, or the alternative of slabbing it to make time. (Or running speeds that are too much over the posted limit.) That's why I've trailered out west, and to Helen a few times. When time allows I prefer to take 2 days to get to places like Sparta, or anywhere further south. Snoeshoe WV is about as long a day ride as I'd take from home.

Very cool... I keep getting requests for information on my Big Lynn Ride... EXCELLENT. If we get more to attend they will even cook what we want for the evening meal. Great folks to work with!

The Big Lynn serves GREAT food, no matter who makes the choices.

My friend Joe and I had a great time at the Lodge in 2008 on the way to SEStar! I've decided to go this year, especially since I'll be missing out on Star. I'm wondering if anyone has made a reservation, and doesn't have a roommate lined up, or if there's anyone that's interested in sharing a room if I make a reservation? Please let me know. Thanks, Syd:D

    Syd,

I haven't decided yet whether to go or not but I think that weekend is open for me. Let's talk about it.

That sounds good Norm. I went on and made a reservation yesterday for room 17. It's one of the motel rooms with two doubles, and it has excellent views. The special rate is $110 per night w/two meals. Think about it or give me a call when you are ready to discuss it. Syd
