I joined the MSTA in early Feb. and had just recently registered on the previous forum so this is actually my first intro...I learned about the MSTA from one of my best buddies that happens to belong to the Michigan Squadron. He has been forwarding the great newsletters to me for almost a year now. I'll admit they helped fuel my imagination!

I reside south of Rochester NY in the Finger Lakes region. I rode several Yamahas (400 & 750) for a short time in the early 80's and decided last year that it was time for me to get back in the saddle!

I purchased a Vulcan 750 last April and after riding 4,000 miles I realized that I was more interested in longer distance touring (along with a little power, not getting blown around on the expressway like a leaf and keeping the rest of my hearing!). So I brought a 2007 V-Strom 1000 home in late Sept. With the late/light winter I was able to log 2000 miles on my V-Strom...I am very pleased with my selection.

This year I hope to get out on as many multi-day trips as my marriage will allow! Maybe I'll see some of you on OH RT26 this summer...

Welcome to the forum and MSTA! Since you mention OH26, allow me to recommend the Mail Pouch Fly By in Marietta August 24-26. The Michigan Squadron is always well represented and all have a great time.

Thanks Buckeye! I hope to get down to SE OH early this season. The MPFB would be a great reason to come back in August.

I had been checking the website and wasn't sure when it was gonna happen...thanks for the heads-up.
