Default Mail Pouch Fly-By - Camping

There was some interest in camping for last years event, so I have contacted a campground near the Hotel.

    Landing's Family Campground
    120 Sterling Road
    Marietta, Ohio 45750

It is about 5 miles from the Marietta Holiday Inn. The cost for tent camping is $25 per night for up to 4 people. RV camping is $35 per night, full hook up (electric, water & sewer). If there is enough interest, I will make an attempt to visit the facility in the next couple of weeks to look it over and see if they can work on price a bit. Let me know if you are interested!

$25/night for a tent space? Whew! That's enough to make a motel room sound really good. Camping is not just the joy of sleeping on the ground with the creepy-crawlies, it's also the joy of saving $$.

    Well, you'd save $44 a night...or about a 63% savings. Split among 4 campers it's bout $6.25 a night where a room is generally split between 2 people, about $34.50 a night.

Even with the savings, I myself still ain't sleepin' on the ground after riding a motorcycle all day in August (probably would not do it anytime)...but the option is there.

    Jon,
You check out the camping option?
I have not decided if I'm going, but if do then will likely be usin' a tent.
    Thanks!

No, I haven't. From talking to the people running it, it sounds ok though. I do know it is less than 4 miles from the event hotel and it is mainly RV camping. I'm not sure if I'll have the opportunity to check it out at this point...
