    Default Congrats to TWiSTAR Organizers!

Ray, Larry, Roger and Carol...this TWiSTAR went so smoothly it was a delight to watch everyone having fun.

I especially liked the speedy Dan Clark Safety Fund and Ride for Kids donation process using four volunteers - wow, is that an improvement!

Larry's route this year was really special...virtually no gravel, hidden driveways, and only a few Amish horse apples. Both scenic POVs like Sleepy Hollow Rd, classic favorits like Wildcat and Coon Valley, and technical sections like County Road D.

I was chagrined not to win the Ohlins Fork Kit, but still satisfied with HSTA memorabilia and other items given away. Of course the best part of all was the fantastic weather!

    Thanks again TWiSTAR organizers!

Default First Group of Pics Posted

Glad everyone had fun! Hope everyone made their hotel reservations for next year to ensure that they've got a room. 5/20-22/11.

Dave McLellan's pics from the event are posted at http://hstatwistar.info/photos/thumbnails.php?album=16 and once I get the pics from the other people who were taking pics, I'll be posting them to the same gallery at the event website.

A cropped version of Dave's pic of me ....

Ray, if you get back to this post, would you please list the volunteers who assisted you and Larry this year?

    TIA, Chuck

Really good volunteer support for the event this year.

Of course Larry did the route, maps, lunch stop planning and arrangements, served as the local storage point for all the event materials (prizes, banners, paperwork) and the registration setup. Carole, his wife, got all reproduction done, arranged for the Friday night BBQ, set it up and served it along with Al Tesch, the new WI State Director (taking over from Larry).

MAPs were Dale Strohman and John Campbell and they handled two groups of riders. Roger Ries generated the GDB and GPX versions of the route and manned the photo traps along with Bill Rankin and Dave McLellan. They shot over 500 pictures.

Steve Kirkendoll, Chuck Davis, Dave McLellan and Al Tesch sold the 50:50 draw RFK/Dan Clark Safety Fund raffle and the winner, Rod Sentell, out of Georgia, declined the prize donating it back to RFK and Dan Clark Safety Fund. Total raised was $391. This is the second year in a row that the winner of the 50:50 raffle at TWiSTAR has donated the prize back.

Door prizes were donated by Ohlins, Madison Motorsports, Vetesnik Power Sports and the MSTA Gearbox.
