Chaval Response XRT Heated Gloves last longer and feature new technology

Like the ill-fated internet meme says, "Winter is coming" ... or at least, it is for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. Chaval's Response XRT heated gloves are designed to help outdoorsmen battle the cold that comes with the season, using some innovative new technology – and for US$389.97, they'd better.

Chaval claims that its gloves last three times longer than any other heated gloves on the market. Having heated gloves is great, but if they die during a long trip to the wilderness, all a user has is a really expensive pair of regular gloves, and that seems counterproductive. The Response XRTs are rated to last four to seven hours, depending on how cold the conditions are.

Sounds like you don't need to wire them to your bike battery.

I don't know anything about the gloves but I just bought a pair of battery powered heated insoles by Thermacell. They have a rechargeable battery imbedded in the insole and are claimed to last 5 hours on high setting. They were $120 at BassPro.

I was going to buy the 12V socks from WarmNSafe (which Stacie says are great) but with the Concours engine heat I don't need heated pants which means having to run two power cords down my regular riding pants legs. That just does not sound appealing So the battery powered insoles seems like a good alternative plus I can also use them for non-motorcycling activities.

It has not been cold enough yet to test the Thermacells but once I do I will post a rview.

Warm-n-Safe, Gerbing both offer heated sox that last as long as you ride. 4 hours, 44 hours, doesn't matter. I've never found my feet to get cold; just keep the core and hands warm.
