    MotoGP in Texas? Maybe Not

It looks like the deal for Austin has fallen through. Hopefully something can be worked out with the Circuit of the Americas track itself. Well, we still have Indy next year.

What a mess. Hopefully they can get their act together and get this going soon. In the meantime yes we still have Indy (and Laguna), and may continue to have both as well as Austin/COTA. Now we just need some American riders competing at the top of the MotoGP grid, not just in the top 10.

Just saw this, Spies has signed with the Pramac Ducati team to ride their satellite Ducati MotoGP bike in 2013 (along with Andrea Iannone who moves up from Moto2). But I doubt Spies is going to do any better on the Ducati than he did in years with Yamaha.

Moving from Yamaha to Ducati didn't help Rossi, and Hayden isn't having much luck with the machine either. Maybe if they went back to a motorcycle with a frame... (Notice that they're still riding the old bikes, instead of the frameless Panigale, in World SuperBike???)

nah its still going to happen just looks like just direct with COTA who has actually the responsible ones for breaking the deal with Kevin. they dont have the best reputation for sticking to agreements from the start of the idea hence the whole on again off again of even building the place.

Michael the question is will it happen in 2013 as originally expected. I suppose if they were able to work somethin out with F1 and Bernie, then they'll figure it out with Dorna and get the rights cleared up.

Still waiting to see what that means to Indy and/or Laguna, if either of those goes away or we have 3 GP in USA. Since these agreements are often long term (at lesat 3-5 years), I don't see how they can easily back out of that.

Anybody in the TX group going to the F1 race there this year?

I'm going to pass this year. I the general admission ticket prices are sky high and they have yet to sort out the traffic patterns getting into and out of the track.

    MotoGP

Don't know long term effects of the Texas motoGP but I do know that 2012 was the first year in a 3 yr. contract for Indy.

Pretty sure Laguna is in the middle of a long term contract as well. Would be cool to have 3 rounds of MotGP in the US, but doubt it would last for long.

Might be the first F1 race I watch in years just to see what the track looks like.
