    Go Tigers

    I have a 2003 KLR. Also, have a 2006 Triumph Tiger 955i.
The 1rst 06 Tiger got totaled with 61,xxx miles on it. Had suspension tighten down and EBC brakes on the front, nothing else.
That bike had 25 states, including the Tail of the Dragon. Also, used as a commuter year round.
The 2nd 06 Tiger I bought for $5,200., this past June. Have put 4,500 miles on it since then.
Originally looked at buying a Suzuki 1000V-Strom back in 06, when I bought the Triumph instead.
Have test rode the 2007 and newer 1050 Tiger. But the 2006 and older are closer to a KLR with 107hp.
Additionally, I got to ride fellow members' new 800 (little) Tiger. Great bike, doesn't look or sound like it, but its' got it.
The 800 is definitely lighter weight than the 955/1050. And you don't have to be over 6ft tall, to reach the ground.
Finnally, I got to test ride 2011 Ducati 1200 Multistrada? Similar size, weight, seating position (955/1050) with 50% more power, 200% higher price tag and 400% more gadgets. I'll stick with the Tigers

I bought an '08 FZ6 about ten months ago, and am impressed with it. The better version of this bike is the older one that they ceased to bring over the big water in '09. The newer FZ6R looses 20 horses in the transition. You will need a new windshield to stop the buffeting, the seat needs some work (don't they all), and bar risers helped me. The bike has good power, more than my WeeStrom, but I have to do more "rowing" thru the gears in the twisties than on the Wee. It is not a torque monster. Good luck, Syd

Until two years ago I had also spent the last 15 or so years on a bicycle. MTB's, racing bikes, TT bikes, and even touring bikes, which lead me to sport touring. You can really go somewhere on a motorcycle. The 100 mile days on a bicycle have turned into 350 - 500 miles days on the motorcycle. That being said, I have always liked to maintain my own equipment and the motorcycle is no different. There are tremendous community's out there for all bike but the two best seem to be for BMW and Honda ST's. There is a world of information on the net and you can always find someone willing to give GOOD and friendly advise. Sometimes they will even help with the work. Joining MSTA is really a great start to finding the right community for you. Come down to SE-star this weekend I'd love to swap some war stories about the bike and the bicycle as well.
