I'll be leaving in a few hours. I just looked at the weather and it's still holding with predictions in the mid-80s and without rain in the forecast for any of the days. If it holds true, this will be the nicest weather for the Fly-By in many years.

FYI - road closure on OH 255 near Marietta

Just saw this yesterday and sent an email to a few people. I didn't have a current email address for Jon Campbell (Sr.) so maybe Tosh can relay it to him (I'm sure Tosh will be checking the forum while he's at the hotel).

I was looking at some stuff yesterday for my ride to Mail Pouch, and found this which may be of interest. I know it’s too late to change the routes or printed materials. But I thought I’d let some of you know who may be able to spread the word.

Motorists will encounter a closure on State Route 255 0.07 miles West of Township Road 475 ( 9.55 mile marker). Work is scheduled to begin on July 2, 2012. Project 12-8008

This is on OH255 between OH800 and OH7, with the posted detour basically eliminating 255 as a through road. You may be able to find a way around on county road.


There is also a closure on OH83 just north of New Concord that was going to impact me but I’ve found a way around on CR65 from Bloomfield into New Concord.

Ok, tried to post important route info and it is being held up for review by a moderator, what is up with that? Here is the info in an abbreviated format

OH255 is closed between 800 & 7, with the posted detour eliminating it as a through road. May be able to work around with some county roads. Adjust accordingly.

Also OH83 has a closure just north of New Concord, I'm going to try to go around using CR65 from Bloomfield (near junction with 208) into New Concord, then US 22/40 back to 83.

Tosh, maybe you could forwad this info to Jon to announce Friday night (or post in registration).
