Enjoy the ride and be safe.![]()
Because a weekend MSF class I was scheduled for was canceled, I find myself with the whole weekend free. That means I've got Saturday free. Sounds like it's time for a driveway tour (ie a day spent on lots of little roads).
If you'd like to see and explore parts of Sevier County you've never seen before, Saturday is your day. I'll be at McDonald's at exit 407 from Interstate 40 no later than 7:00 for a biscuit. Side stands up will be promptly at 7:30 a.m. Being a typical ALL PAVED driveway tour, smaller bikes may be more fun than big bikes, but any size will work! We'll be popping on and off lots of little roads from some of the bigger roads that you will recognize, but you're highly likely to see at least a few roads you haven't seen before. We will stop a bit after mid-day for lunch somewhere, and we should be back to exit 407 by late afternoon. Total distance, assuming we make the whole route, will be 270 miles. And believe it or not, you won't see Sevierville at all, you'll see Pigeon Forge briefly, and Gatlinburg only from a distance. You WILL see roads that will allow you to bypass the miles and miles of nose to tail parking lots that you typically run into in those areas.
The high temperatures for Saturday are predicted to be in the low 80s. With slightly higher elevations and lots of shaded roads, this might be the coolest ride you've had in weeks.
Side stands up at 7:30 a.m. Saturday from McDonald's at exit 407 from Interstate 40. All Sevier County...all good.
