I wondered how the June 29 storms might affect your adventure routes. There were numerous areas nearby Staunton that were without power for over 6 days. Be safe and have fun.

Our good friend Randy Logan actually carries a small saw in his toolkit for handling situations such as these. I'm glad he does as that means I don't have to carry such things. I remember one ride when he wasn't along that we had to do the drop and drag technique to get past fallen trees.

The photos below were made from a forest service road running a mountaintop along the VA/WV line. Altitude 4350 ft.
Looking NE, are the antennae of the Sugar Grove Naval Radio Observatory. (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sugar..._West_Virginia)
Looking SE, are the rolling Virginia hills north of Staunton.
Today is our last day here. It's been super. The riding (both on and off pavement) is simply outstanding as are the accomodations at Stonewall Jackson Hotel. We were here for STAR 2009 and have enjoyed this visit just as much. This is STILL a great motorcycle destination!
