The annual SE-STAR event webpage and Pre-registration information are now available online at:
http://msta-se.com/sestar/.
We will be returning to Dillard once again for this AMA sanctioned MSTA event. You must be a member to attend - new members signing up at the event will receive a one year MSTA regular membership at no cost.
We will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express at 64 White Oak Lane. 706-746-3585
Contact the motel directly as we have a block of rooms reserved at the special rate of $69. Do not use the online reservation through Holiday Inn as the room availability and rate may will not be properly reflected. The block of rooms will be available until around mid-August. The motel has held the same price as in previous years and they are looking forward to our return.
We will have a catered meal brought in by Mountain Man BBQ on Saturday evening.
Tee shirts will be available and based primarily on pre-registration orders. I may have a few at the event, but if you would like one, the best bet would be to pre-register so you can be sure to get one. The design for this year will be in honor and in memory of our friend Rock Rhodes whom we lost last year at this event. I encourage pre-registration as it makes planning the event much easier.
Any questions please contact me at vfrdude64@yahoo,com or call me at 678-584-3726. I'll be coordinating the event this year and am looking forward to seeing everyone at one of my favorite events of the year.

I'm attending a BikeSafe North Carolina course on Friday up in Columbus, NC on Friday, and will be riding on down to Dillard Friday evening. It's more "adventure" than dual sport, but I'll be riding my BMW F650GS. Randy Logan and I will be rooming together (I know he'll appreciate your help in loading a route or two).
I don't know what Randy will be riding since he'll probably be making the trek from Knoxville to Dillard solo. He might show up on one of his DRs. If so, he'll be ready for some more serious dual sporting than what I'd generally tackle.

From what I've read and what I've heard from another guy that went through it, there is a morning classroom session followed by a road session before lunch. Afterwards there is another classroom session followed by a longer road session. It's supposed to be over by 5:00-5:30. Columbus is about 100 miles from Dillard, and on those roads it may not be real fast. Even at that, I expect to make it comfortably Friday evening.
