Preview of Adventure Riding at STAR 2012

I know several attendees are planning to do some adventure riding while at STAR in Avon. Last summer several of us spent about 10 days riding in the Rockies. Five days out of Silverton, CO, three days out of Moab, UT and two days out of Crested Butte, CO. We took lots of pictures and even posted quite a few on the old forum but those were lost in the forum crash. Soooo, I have hacked together a web page for you adventurers with a small percentage of the photos to give you adventurers some idea what to expect.

The Silverton and Crested Butte sections are more complete. Since I doubt that anyone will go as far as Moab, I haven't done that section yet. Anyhow, this is still a work in progress and I'm sure there will be updates to this.

Very cool.

As I've probably said a few times on the forum and lists, when I road up to Taylor Lake I was very impressed, quite a sight added to by the free range cattle walking up the paved road towards the dam. (This was in 2010 while riding in CO after STAR. We rode from Avon to Gunnison and had some extra time to make the ride up there before it got dark.)

I'd like to get back there during STAR, but its quite a long ride from Avon down there and back again. Will at least look to hit CO92 down to Blue Mesa Dam and back. And we've got a full slate after STAR going into WY.
