    RKA tailpack

Here is a nice RKA tailpack that I have used on my sport touring bikes (ST1300, VTR996 Super Hawk), but since I now sport tour on my Super Tenere, I don't have a use for it. Got a big old KLR tailpack for the Super Tenere, as fitting an adventure touring bike. Anyway, this bag can be attached to the rear of a seat or to a passenger seat by running the straps under the seat from one side to the other. it is expandable and has lots of sport touring miles left in it. Perfect MSTA gear. I have this listed on advrider for $65, plus shpping, but those knarly adventurers prefer something not as good looking as this. How about $60 plus shipping to any MSTA member.

Tell you what, I'll split the USPS Priority Mail flat rate fee with you.

    Thanks,

    Fred Z.

    Hi Fred,
Can you give me some dimensions on the bag? Ht width, length, etc. How much does it hold (10, 15, 25 liters)? I just got back into riding after a short drought and have an 2001 VFR 800. Pretty sure it would work for me. Let me know about some of these then I can make a more informed decision. Price looks good.

    Hi Rich,

Approximate dimensions are 10" wide X 12.5" long. Height is 6" and when expanded it is about 10". These are aproximate, as it is difficult to get it spot on unless I stuff it full of, uh...stuff.

I have used it on a 95 VFR and on a 98 Super Hawk. It would work fine on your 01 VFR. I only tour on my Super Tenere now, so I don't use it at all.

Hi Fred. Sorry for the delay on answering. I lost my password on the forum and had to dig to find it. The dimensions sound good, and your past experiences with this item sound like it will work quite nicely on my VFR. So, I am gonna take the plunge and get some luggage while helping out a MSTA member as well. So, if it hasn't sold yet the price is right and if you'll split the shipping (USPS Flat Rate Priority) that would be great. How do you want to handle this? You can get my address out of the Blue Book or I could give it to you via personal msg. How do you want to receive the funds? Let me know. I'd like to complete this deal fairly quickly, as I am likely going to AMA races at Mid-Ohio in a couple weeks and it would be useful. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Rich,

It isn't sold yet, so it is yours. I am still riding home from STAR and will get home tomorrow (Sunday). I can mail it Monday and you can send me a check if that works for you. I'll have to recheck the Priority Mail fee for that size box. If I recall correctly it is $16.20 with delivery confirmation, if so, just add $8 to the cost of the bag. I'll let you know for sure after I mail it Monday. I'll look up your address in the Bue Book.

    Hi Fred,
That will be great. Since you're sending this Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation you want to send it to me at work? If that is good, let me know and I will private message you with the address. If you already sent to my home address from the Blue Book no worries.
