    Had a Ball!

This was my first TWiSTAR event and I had a ball. It was cool seeing everyone who came out. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to those who were injured this year. Hope to do it again next year. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to put the event together!

I too had a Great Time this weekend. Thank You Ray and Larry for another great TwiStar.

I can update you all on Marty's condition with the following from an email I received last night from Bruce:

"I stopped to see Marty at the hospital on the way home.
He was scheduled to be discharged later today, and I'm
assuming that took place. His family members were on
the way to go and pick up what's left of the bike.

His left hand looks like he got bit by a snake, and is swollen
up like a balloon. His shoulder was dislocated and they couldn't
get it back in during a 10 min. attempt in the ER. Marty says
that even with pain medication during that process, the pain
was a 10. They finally had to stop...take him to the OR...and
under anesthesia pop the shoulder back into the socket. I can
feel the pain just writing this. It will be a month before he can
do any lifting or riding a motorcycle.

Add to that, 7 stitches on the inner lip, and multiple bruises
and contusions. Given the wipe out I saw, he is a very lucky
rider. He looks like he got stuck in the middle of a bar room
brawl for a couple minutes, but not too bad considering."

Glad he's doing well. I think Ruth (pretty sure that was her name) got off with a couple cracked ribs and a bruised collar bone. Her Bonny didn't look too bad though. I'll bet her husband has it all fixed up by the time she's ready to ride again.

I also had a blast. So good to see so many serious riders and folks out for challenging fun. Thanks to all for such a good event. Really glad that those injured are going to be alright. After seeing Marty right after his spill, I am relived his injuries are not any worse.

Brook is okay. 6 fractured rubs and a slight lung puncture. She got home on Tuesday. Her bike was pretty much unscathed.

Thanks to Ray, Larry and Carole! You guys did a great job! We were the last people out of the hotel and they had a sheet of paper full of reservations for next year! This is becoming one of the "go-to" events on the MSTA Calendar!
