Forgot to mention before water (either 1-2 bottles or my camel back) and at least one granola bar or snack of some sort. Never know when you'll be stranded somewhere for a while and that little bit you have with you may be needed.

One year on the Cherahola we planned to go into Tellico for lunch. A storm kicked up and we decided to head back. Stopped at an overlook and each of us had stuff to eat and drink so that became lunch. Not an emergency but made things easier.

I carry small 12V compressor, tire plug kit, presure gauge, spare head light bulb, saftey vest, modified tool kit, spark plugs, first aid kit, zip ties, spare fuses, an extenstion cord for my battery tender lead and the clips for it, cell phone and charger, extra gloves, extra layer of clothing, space blanket, a few nuts & screws (bike specific), saftey pins, pad and pencil, multi-tool, small LED flash light, and last but not least tie downs. I had to call triple A once for a tow. Guy showed up in a pickup and small trailer. He was going to tie my bike down like a dirt bike. Make sure you know the proper way to tie down your bike! Handle bars will break off or bend and you can damage the ABS systems on some bikes if you don't know what you are doing. I also carry 2 pairs of black rubber gloves. They keep your hands clean during repairs and you safe if you have to help someone else. A first aid and CPR training is always good to have as well.

A couple of years ago I took an Accident Scene Management class and purchased a first aid kit from them... While I have never had to use it I always have it with me.

You should look into this training it could save your friends life.

Always carry CO2 cartridges, mushroom plug kit, pocket knife, hat, small LED flashlight, metric allen wrenches, flat head/phillips screwdriver, Leatherman wire pliers, camera, lens cleaner, adjustable wrenches, cell phone, and electrical tape. When dual sporting also carry tire spoons and tube patch kit in addition to the other items.

Carry this stuff in a small pelican case mounted on the luggage rack or small backpack when riding bikes without a pelican case.

Some of the items carried. Like the hat?
