Delay in Posting?

I just submitted a reply to a thread I had started previously (a report on a RTE event.) I got a message to the effect that the reply wouldn't be posted until it had been reviewed by a moderator. Are all posts being review prior to posting? It seems rather time intensive. Have we had problems with inappropriate material? I'd never run into this on the MSTA forum, and the protocol seems rarely used on any of the other forums I frequent.
