We actually took the tunnel route out of the published STAR routes for that reason and a couple more. We still have more routes than can be ridden during the rally. But never hurts to have a few...

Can't say on the long distance thing.
But I stopped by the hotel last week and I'm happy to report that the beer on tap is cold and flowing.
So that sharing a beer or two should work out just fine....
