Exceptional weather today for our part of the world. It was about 31 degs this morning in Kingsport but by 10AM the temperature had jumped up into the 40's. By late afternoon it was in the high 60's with brilliant sunshine.

Five riders from NC and TN including Brick, Gary and TN2Wheeler met at Christa's restaurant just south of Newland, NC for a tasty lunch topped off with Christa's home-made deserts before heading off in different directions for the afternoon. I went north on the Blue Ridge Parkway (a rare thing in February) up to Stations Inn (NC18). The parkway was closed for repairs just north of there so I came back home through Jefferson, NC and Mountain City, TN with a nice (and lonely!!) run over the Snake (US421 through Shady Valley). All in all an excellent riding day for this time of year.

Jim, Thanks for setting up the sub thread. It was good to meet you at Christa's and I wish I could have continued the ride. But, when your 90 year old mom wants her garden tilled that takes pority. It sounds like we ride a lot in the same areas an can share favorite roads.
Here are a couple of pictures from Christa's 1st Dee, Jim, Brick, and Scott. 2nd the 09 Multi is my bike.

Yes, Thanks for setting up the subForum... and Gary Thanks for getting us to ride/meet you at Christa's.

Here is the report I posted on the http://cofsta.49.forumer.com/index.php

Well I got a short notice from Gary Lackey that he was going to Christa's for lunch at 11:30 (181 and the parkway where the monster truck sits). So I called Scott and he came over and we rode up the mtn to meet Gary and Jim Randall showed up and D Jones and another guy I didn't know and can't remember his name.

Great lunch at Christa's for little $$!!

The rest all headed home but Scott and I rode some more... hit some of the back roads in the area. Great stuff and it was beautiful. On the way home we stopped near Lake James as I knew Scott wanted to demo a Super T... so here he is fixxin' to test ride my Super T.Attachment:

I rode his WeStrom and we went to my house. A Great day of riding for sure!

Thank Scott got back on his bike and headed home. There I am putting my bike in the garage and I get a call... it's Scott! He says well, I crashed at the end of your road! I jumped into my truck and drove down there and sure enough he crashed at Belvidere Lane and Piedmont Rd!! Damn... sucks!! Here he is: Attachment:

Dislocated left shoulder and sprained right foot. I took his bike back to my garage and he went to the emergency room. I picked him up later and got him home. It turns out that he broke a small round bone in his wrist and has some soft tissue damage and I think a finger broken too... so he will be seen by a Dr on Thursday to probably get surgery! Damn... this sucks!

Well it could have been much worse! I just spoke with him and he is much better than I thought and he will know more on Thursday after his Dr visit.

Scott says he just lost concentration and while approaching the Piedmont Road end of Belvidere Lane he was zoned out... when he realized that he was close to Piedmont Rd he hit the brakes and the WeSTrom went down immediately... boom! He slid a bit on the right side of the bike and ended up in the middle of Piedmont road. Damn good thing no one was coming down Piedmont Road. I'm not sure if/when he will get on the computer but best wishes would be nice!!
