Thanks Fred
I should have looked there but I usually find the info for the events in this section of the forum. The website listed in the calendar is the same that I had tried and it still doesn't work. At least the hotel info is listed. Does anyone know if there is a special rate for the rooms and what that rate may be?

Hotel is same as last year. There is a special rate. Mention the MSTA. We aren't doing pre-registration this year so I've set up online ordering for t-shirts this year. You can order and pay by Paypal or order and then send me a check.

Hi everyone,
I just joined to forum and happened into here. Having just moved to Cape Girardeau last year, I hadn't heard about this event and was wondering what it was all about. Who is Bruce, what does the ride consist of or any other information would be appreciated? Thanks in advance!

Ron, there is a preview of this event in the latest STAReview.

My history may be a little off, but here are the basics. The event used to be called Friends of Freddies as there were many Freds involved. The event was recently re-named as Buddies of Bruce in memory of a club member who passed away, Bruce Nall I believe. I'm sure there are more knowledgeable members who could elaborate better.
The event is an regional MSTA event. We typically meet up at the host hotel, there is a registration cost that usually includes a meal or two. Most show up on a Friday, but some come in earlier. Saturday, smaller groups go out to ride the local area. We don't generally do a large group ride (parade) and there are usually several routes to choose from. Saturday evening there is usually a get-together where we recap the weekend, who showed up, sometimes there are door prizes. It's a pretty loosely organized event, but you get to meet people from all around. I'll be there from Georgia and I'm sure many other states will be represented as well.

Eric great synopsis of an MSTA regional event. I had a newer member who was going to Mail Pouch ask me about it is as well. I think most who are new to MSTA can only picture those very large group rides (parades), poker runs and other things. What goes on at an MSTA rally is people generally ride with those they know, or look for others to ride with.
If you're coming by yourself and don't know anybody and don't want to ride alone mention it to somebody at registration and they may be able to help. Or just start chatting with people in the parking lot to find a group to go ride with.
There really isn't any structure imposed on who rides with who or does what rides. Some mostly ride with their local group, others ride with old friends they only see at events. Others ride solo or with people they've never met before. Nobody will force you do something you are not comfortable with.

Hi Marc,
Not sure if we've met. I ride a blue Sprint St.
I'm going to BoB, riding down on Thursday from Chicago Western Suburbs.
Got a room at the event hotel.
Let me know if you're interested in riding down together or room share

What is the status of GPS files for this event? Have they been or will they be posted?
