I had just joined MSTA last fall and made a short introduction then, since the forum crashed here is a new one.
I live in south central Oklahoma and ride a 2008 Versys. I haven't made any long trips on the bike yet, but I have been outfitting it to be a better long distance bike and plan on making some trips this year.
Last year someone here suggested I get a Givi windscreen for the bike; I don't recall who, but I recently installed one and have to say thank you. It's a bigger difference than I expected and makes the bike much more comfortable on the highway. I've been out on the bike the last few afternoons testing it out and it seems that all helmet buffeting is gone, although the windscreen seems to block almost all airflow through the helmet at low speeds (under 25 mph or so). I probably just need a different helmet, I figure a mid level HJC doesn't flow much air anyway.
I hope to see some of you out on the road, and hopefully I can make at least one or two events this year.
